OTTAWA LAKE – Whiteford’s baseball team stayed hot Wednesday, sweeping Britton Deerfield in a TCC doubleheader to extend its winning streak to 10.
Whiteford won by scores of 16-1 and 20-1.
In the opener, Whiteford scored seven runs in the second inning to break the game open. The Bobcat bats banged out 15 hits, including a home run by Shea Ruddy.
Carter Ruehle, Levi Hillard, Logan Tammerine, Eric Parriett, Luke Rasor and Ruddy each had multiple hit day. Ruehle had three stolen bases.
Parriett was the starter and winner for Whiteford on the hill, striking out 10 and giving up just one hit to BD, a single by BD’s Nico Johnson.
In the second game, Luke Rasor led the Bobcats with four RBI.
Whiteford had 14 hits in al, including two by three by Rasor and Hillard and two by Tammerine and Isaiah Joerin. Luke Masserant had three stolen bases.
The Bobcats did not commit an error in the field.
Up next for Whiteford is the Mark Christensen Memorial Invitational on Saturday. Whiteford will play Dundee at 9 a.m. to open the tournament.
