Win streak alive and well for Bobcats after sweep of Sand Creek

SAND CREEK – The win streak goes on.

Whiteford won games No. 13 and 14 of the season Wednesday with a doubleheader sweep of Sand Creek, 6-1, 6-0.

Whiteford started the season 0-5 and dropped out of the Coaches Association state rankings. But, the were back inside the top 20 this week as the win streak continues.

The Bobcats had to come from behind in the first game against the Aggies. Luke Rasor’s double tied the game in the second. Clay Speweik and Shea Ruddy had sacrifice fly’s in the fourth to put the Bobcats up for good.

Levi Hillard got the pitching win. He scattered five hits over seven innings and had a season-high 10 strikeouts. He didn’t walk a batter.

Hillard, Rasor and Carter Ruehle each had two hits in the game.

In the second game, Whiteford scored twice in the third inning and four times in the fourth to put the game away. Eric Parriett tossed the shutout, giving up just two hits.

Rasor went 2-for-3 at the plate and had three RBIs.
