CLINTON – Whiteford’s track and field teams had another outstanding day at the Clinton Pelz Invitational Friday, bringing home a lot of medals.
Paige Thomas won the 100 and Jacob Iott took first in the 400 (55.2) while one Bobcat boys relay and one girls relay also took first.
Ty Ruddy, Ryan Oberle, Dylan Anderson and Iott teamed to win the 4×400 relay while the girls 400 relay of Thomas, Madelyn Thomas, Aubrie Simmons and Anne Gapp were first-place winners.
For the Bobcat boys, Jack Emmenecker was third in the 200 (24.8); Keegan Masters was second in the 3200 (10:57.7) and fourth in the 1600 (5:01.3); Brody English was fourth in the 200 (24.8); Luke Murphy was fourth in the 3200 (11:05.0) and Stepan Masserant was fourth in the pole vault.
Whiteford’s relays had a strong performance, finishing second in the 4×200, third in the 4×100 and fourth in the 4×800 relays.
Besides winning the 100, Thomas was second in the 200 (27.1) and 400 (1:03.1). Madelyn Thomas was third in the 800 (2:44.2) and third in the 1600 (6:00.2); Annabelle Gapp was second in the 1600 (5:57.1) and second in the 300 hurdles (52.0); Alena Ellis tied for second in the high jump 4-6) and Josie Emmerson was third in the 100 Hurdles (19.5).
