PETERSBURG – Whiteford took three close games from Summerfield Tuesday to beat the Bulldogs, 25-22, 26-24, 25-19.
The Bobcats improved to 5-7-2 overall and 3-1 in the Tri-County Conference.
“We definitely are starting to believe we are good and we can beat anyone,” Whiteford coach Janie Bunge said. “The confidence was there tonight and that makes a big difference.
“Anytime we play Summerfield, it brings a different level of intensity.”
Several players had big matches for the Bobcats. Jessica Ulery had seven kills and Mackenzie Ulery and Kenzie Gray had six each. Ava Hillard had four aces and Aly VanBrandt had 15 digs.
Alaina Andrews had 19 assists and four aces for the Bobcats.
“Our setter made some great decisions and put the ball in the right hitters’ hands at the right time,” Bunge said.
The Bobcats will host Britton Deerfield Thursday.
