Whiteford clinches outright TCC title with 62-22 win over Erie Mason


ERIE – Whiteford high-powered offense scored on every offensive possession and closed the season 8-1 with a 62-22 win over the Eagles.

Whiteford fullback Drew Knaggs rushed for 109 yards and three touchdowns, Cole Giesige went over 1,000 yards rushing for the season and Jake Iott scored on a touchdown run and reception for the Bobcats.

Erie Mason got on the board first, scoring on the first drive of the game. The Bobcat scored the next 32 points.

Shea Ruddy threw the touchdown pass to Iott and ran for a score and Levi Hillard also had a rushing touchdown. The Bobcats had 442 yards of total offense, all but 60 on the ground, while holding Erie Mason to 28 yards rushing and 242 yards passing.

Ruddy and Iott had nine tackles each. Ruddy also had an interception. Jack Andrews had two sacks and Noah Bauman h ad four tackles for loss for Whiteford.

The victory clinched the outright Tri-County Conference championship for the Bobcats.

For Erie Mason, Vaughn Brown completed 12-of-16 passes for 143 yards and a touchdown. Cole Kreger completed 9-of-10 passes for 99 yards and a touchdown. Bryce Diehl had four rushes for 51 yards and caught three passes for 62 yards. Grant Shadler had nine catches for 109 yards.
