OTTAWA LAKE — Britton Deerfield cut a 16-point Whiteford lead to two with two minutes left and Whiteford junior Shea Ruddy took over the game.

Ruddy made back-to-back 3-pointers on consecutive possessions to give the Bobcats a 74-66 advantage and Whiteford went on to close out a 76-71 victory over the visiting Patriots.

Ruddy finished with a career-high 22 points, as did Whiteford’s Hunter DeBarr. Josh Hill finished with 11.

Whiteford will take a 10-5 record into Friday’s battle at Summerfield. Whiteford is 7-2 in the TCC.

BD (8-7, 4-5 TCC) got 30 points from Logan Shiels and 26 from Nico Johnson. Johnson came into the game needing 21 to reach 1,000 career points and did so in the second half, just as BD went on a run and closed the gap.
