MONROE — Whiteford beat St. Mary Catholic Central and Monroe Saturday afternoon and tied the single season team record for wins with 33.
The Bobcats are 33-4 on the season after beating SMCC 11-2 and Monroe 4-2. Both games were played at Monroe High School.
Berlynn Keller and Unity Nelson combined to pitch in the Bobcat win over SMCC, with the duo striking out five batters each. Aly VanBrandt went 2-for-3 with two runs scored.
Against Monroe, Nelson had one walk and recorded 17 strikeouts, giving her 201 for the season in 100 innings of work. Ambrelle Billau went 2-for-3 while Patrina Marsh had an RBI triple and Shay Alexander also had an RBI hit.
The 33 wins are the most for the Bobcats since winning 33 games in 2017.
Whiteford takes on Dundee next week to close the regular season. Districts are Saturday, June 4.
