Three Whiteford players will play in the Monroe County Senior Baseball All-Star game next week, but they won’t play for the same team.
Cole Giesige and Cole Crouch were selected to the Blue squad while Levi Hillard will play for the Red.
Giesige and Crouch shared the Monroe County Region lead in wins with nine while Giesige led the Region in strikeouts.
The game will be at 5 p.m. Wednesday, July 13 at Airport High School. There is a $5 entry fee for fans.
The Red Team will be coached by Monroe’s Bubba Bezeau while the Blue Team is coached by Jefferson’s Tyler Bondy. It will be the first county all-star baseball game since 2018.
The 20th annual game was played in 2017. The last all-star game to be played was 2019, the 22nd game. The 2020 game was canceled due to COVID and there was no game organized last year.
