Whiteford sweeps TCC dual meet

SAND CREEK – Both the boys and girls track teams came away with 3-0 wins for the Bobcats as they ran against Jackson Prep, Lenawee Christian, and Sand Creek. The boys team moved to 5-1 overall. With the girls pushing to 4-2 overall.

Drew Ruddy, Antonio Nachtrab, Brody Hillard, and Jess Saylor made up the winning 4×1 team, with Ruddy, Nachtrab, Hillard, and Nate Andews winning the 4×2 race for the Bobcats. Ryan Thomas won the 110/300 hurdles and the high jump, along with Brek Ruddy championing pole vault. 

Still on the boys side, Whiteford took the top four spots in the 200, Cole Griffith won long jump, and Grant Rasor won both the 800 and 1600.

For the girls, Brielle White was victorious in the 200 and 400, with Briar Wing winning the 800 and Braelynn Chiotti the 1600. Breslin Wing followed it up with a victory in the 3200.

The 4×2 team of Koralynn Bilau, Sierra Debarr, Molly Fojtik, and White triumphed, with Debarr, Breslin and Briar Wing, and Chiotti winning the 4×8.

Nina Bauman secured the discus title, and Kayla Luse won shot put.

“I’m really proud of everyone’s efforts,” coach Jay Yockey said. “We saw several season bests and some career PR’s as well.”
