OTTAWA LAKE – Whiteford needed eight innings Thursday, but were able to come away with a 3-2 victory over Ida.

Macy Ovall threw 107 pitches in eight innings, striking out nine and giving up just three hits.

Avy Wood scored two runs for the Bobcats.

Ida Pitcher Alex Haws also pitched all 8 innings, striking out 6 and giving up just four hits.  

“Both pitchers threw well tonight,” Whiteford coach Matt VanBrandt said. “We took advantage of a couple of their mistakes. It was a classic high school battle, and the outcome was never certain.”
