STOCKBRIDGE – The Whiteford Bobcats took first place Friday in the Stockbridge Invitational, winning by half-point after winning the 4×400 relay.
“We had a really great day from both the boys and girls,” Whiteford coach Jay Yockey said.
The Bobcat boys took first in the 4×100, 4×200 and 4×400 relays.
The 4×400 relay of Nate Andrews, Brek Ruddy, Brody Hillard and Jess Saylor not only won, but they also put up an automatic qualifying time and are now the second-fastest 4×400 in Division 3.
Andrews, Antonio Nachtrab, Drew Ruddy and Hillard make up the other two relays.
Saylor also won the 400. Andrews (200), Brek Ruddy (pole vault) and Keegan Thomas (high jump) all placed second.
“I’m really proud of the boys team effort” Yockey said. “They came out to compete despite the cooler temps and really set the standard.”
The Bobcat girls team finished third with 85 points.
Briar Wing won the 800, Brielle White the 400 and Nina Bauman the discus.
The girls 4×400 Relay of White, Briar Wing, Sierra DeBarr and Braelynn Chiotti, was second.
Sophia Kahn had PR in the 200.
