Bobcats win Tecumseh Invitational

TECUMSEH – Whiteford had a great day Saturday, bouncing back from a non-league loss Friday, to win the Tecumseh Invitational.

The Bobcats beat host Tecumseh 6-2 in the first game and topped Michigan Center 5-2 in the final.

Whiteford had just four hits against Tecumseh but took advantage of seven walks and two hit batsmen.

Zayne Emch had two doubles and two RBIs. Jake Scott went the distance, scattering seven hits and striking out one.

Against Michigan Center, the Bobcats fell behind 2-0 but scored three times in the fourth inning to take the lead for good.

Luke Henegar had two hits and scored twice. Sam Miller, the No. 9 hitter, had two RBIs.

Brody Masters went the distance on the hill, striking out five and giving up six hits and two runs.

The Bobcats lost 10-6 to Blissfield Friday. Emch had two hits for Whiteford.

The 12-3 Bobcats are at Ypsilanti Lincoln Monday for a doubleheader and play Britton Deerfield Wednesday in a TCC game.
