OTTAWA LAKE — Whiteford’s boys basketball team is inching closer to the Tri-County Conference championship.
The Bobcats beat Clinton Tuesday 77-41 to improve to 10-0 on the season in league play. They have a two game lead over Sand Creek (8-2) and are three games up on Summerfield (7-3).
Four Bobcats reached double figures in Tuesday’s win and Brayden Clark-Gilmore scored a season high five points.
Jared Fink led the Bobcats with 25 points while Thomas Eitniear scored 13, Cameron Iott 10 and Hunter Lake 10. Eitniear scored 11 of his points in the decisive second quarter, when Whiteford outscored Clinton 26-1.
The Bobcat defense continues to lead the league in allowing the fewest points per game of any TCC team – 42.3 points a game.
The Bobcats travel to Morenci Friday.
