HUDSON – The defending Division 4 state runner-up Hudson Tigers scratched out three runs in the sixth inning to come back from a 3-2 deficit to beat Whiteford 5-3 Friday in the first game of a doubleheader.
The Bobcats out-hit Hudson, 8-6.
Andrew Toda and Austin Wynn had two hits each with Ty Eitniear, Nolan Adams, Antonio DiTerlizzi and Alex Kohler each collecting one hit. Kohler had the only extra-base hit, a double.
Ty Eitniear took the loss, going five innings and allowing four earned runs. He struckout two and walked six. Antonio DiTerlizzi pitched the final inning, striking out two.
The Bobcats are 3-1.
The second game was called in the middle of the fifth inning with the Bobcats leading 9-8.
Whiteford hosts Sand Creek Wednesday in a Tri-County Conference doubleheader.
