OTTAWA LAKE – Whiteford’s baseball team swept two games Saturday to win the Mark Christensen Memorial Baseball Invitational.
The Bobcats beat Dundee 3-1 in the first game and Ypsilanti Lincoln 9-5 in the championship game.
Levi Hillard and Cole Giesige combined on a 2-hitter against Dundee in a pitchers duel.
The Bobcats took a 2-1 lead in the third inning. Logan Tammerline had a pair of doubles while Giesige and Austin Wynn also had two hits.
In the championship game, the Bobcats went up 4-0 in the first inning but the Railsplitters pulled within 7-5 with a four-run fourth. Giesige relieved Cole Crouch and shut the door on Lincoln.
Shea Ruddy and Crouch had two hits apiece in the finals.
Whiteford has won 12 consecutive games and improved to 12-5.
The Bobcats are at Sand Creek Wednesday for a TCC doubleheader.
