OTTAWA LAKE – Whiteford has opened up the search for a varsity girls basketball coach after Les Manley stepped down after seven seasons.
Manley, who retired as a teacher in March, resigned due for contractual reasons but may re-apply for the job.
He has been the varsity basketball coach since 2015-16, going 62-78 overall. His best season was 2017-18 when the Bobcats won 13 games. Whiteford went 9-12 this past season after an 0-8 start and going on a win streak.
His seven seasons make him the second-longest serving girls varsity basketball coach in school history behind Kris Hubbard.
