BLISSFIELD – Whiteford’s season ended Wednesday with a 40-20 Division 3 district semifinal loss to Monroe St. Mary Catholic Central.
“We had a lid on the basket for much of the game,” interim head coach Shauna Rasor said after the game. “Things didn’t go our way.”
Seven seniors played their final game in what was still a relatively young team. Even some of the Bobcat seniors were first-year players. They not only had to go through a coaching change after last season, but in January when head coach Jim Ross was ill and couldn’t continue coaching. Rasor became the head coach for the rest of the season.
“Our coaching styles are different, definitely how we communicate with the girls,” Rasor said. “They came to practice every day and worked hard. It was a fun group of girls to coach. They always gave their all. That’s all I could ask.”
Schober, a junior, led Whiteford with 9 points.
