Whiteford Rules TCC Golf

ADRIAN – Whiteford won its first Tri-County Conference golf championship since 2002 Thursday, winning the league championship meet at the Hills of Lenawee Golf Club and finishing first overall in the conference.

The Bobcats finished 33-1-1 in league play, well ahead of runner-up Lenawee Christian, who finished 23-10-2.

Earning All-TCC honors were freshman Fisher Zawacki, who closed the season tied for the top spot in the league with Lenawee Christian’s Max Stamats with a 40.5 average.

Hunter Massingill (42.7) and Cade Schober (42.8) also earned first team All-TCC honors for the Bobcats.

Massingill finished first in the TCC championship meet, shooting a 42 and a 39 for an 18-hole round of 81. Fisher Zawacki was third with an 83. The Bobcats shot a 343 as a team, taking first.

Senior Chase Zawacki was Whiteford’s Sportsmanship recipient.

The league championship is the third all-time for the Bobcats. The others were in 2001 and 2002.
