OTTAWA LAKE – Whiteford improved to 18-10 Tuesday with a 6-3 non-league softball win against Blissfield.

The two teams were held hitless until the Bobcats broke through in the fourth inning with a leadoff single by Avy Wood. Ava Stevens had a sacrifice fly to score Wood for a 1-0 Whiteford lead.

Whiteford scored three more runs on a single by Linny Scott in the same inning.

But finished 2-for-3 on the day.

Peyton Welch threw five no-hit innings with zero walks and nine strikeouts. Macy Ovall pitched the other two innings.

Whiteford is at Flat Rock today and hosts a Division 3 district on Saturday.
